Leader in Training (LIT)

The leader in training program provides 7th and 8th graders the opportunity to develop strong leadership skills and self-confidence in the camp setting. While LIT campers participate in some of the normal camp activities, much of their camp experience is spent as a group working on leadership development. These skills are not only applicable to camp but will also foster leadership in the communities to which the LIT will belong throughout life, including their school, college, neighborhood and workplace. Within our supportive camp setting, participants attend workshops addressing a variety of leadership topics. They also participate in fun and challenging team-building activities that facilitate the development of a strong, cohesive group, often leading to lifelong friendships.

Counselor in Training (CIT)

Counselor in Training is designed specifically for campers in the 9th grade and up. This program is for campers who may have a desire to become a camp counselor or junior camp counselor in the future. The CIT program can give a solid foundation of leadership skills to those campers willing to put in the effort. Both the staff and other campers will be looking to the CITs to be exemplary campers and this can be a lot of pressure. Completion of the CIT program does not guarantee a position on staff, nor is it a required step in becoming a staff member. The program is designed to provide a general skill set that can be used as a member of any organization.
