Leave a Legacy with Endowment

Given the opportunity, most of us would like to leave a legacy that gives meaning to what we valued over our lifetime. Imagine the satisfaction of knowing that because of your generosity and planning, children and families will be able to take part in the YMCA spirit for years to come.

YMCA of Indiana County has serves thousands of youth and adults each year. With a focus on sustainability, the YMCA of Indiana County launched our endowment fund in 2018 with generous gifts from a couple of our amazing members/volunteers. Endowment funds are invested funds which preserve principal and make payments, or gifts, to the YMCA from interest earnings.

The purpose of our endowment foundation is to ensure the YMCA of Indiana County’s ability to carry out its purpose and to fulfill its mission. With a sound financial base, YMCA of Indiana County can continue to provide quality programs and services, especially during economically stressful periods. In addition, endowment earnings can provide the funds needed to start new programs, grow and expand.

How can I become a member of the YMCA Heritage Club?

Any donor who gives a gift/pledge of at least $5,000 cash or cash equivalent to the YMCA of Indiana County endowment fund is considered a member. Pledges may be set up to be paid now or may be a part of one’s estate that would transfer to the YMCA at that time.

Can I designate my gift for a specific purpose?

Yes, many donors choose to leave their gift unrestricted to allow the Y governing board to direct the earnings where the need is greatest. However, any gift pledged to the YMCA FOUNDATION has specific options to which you can designate your funds: (1) unrestricted, (2) temporarily restricted, or (3) permanently restricted.
