How It Works

All members of the YMCA of Indiana County who have been members for at least 15 days and who pay their monthly membership dues through credit card or bank draft can invite friends to join the Y and participate in our 20/20 Referral Program.

When your friend joins, you will both receive 20% off your monthly membership dues for as long as you both are members!

This offer cannot be combined with other discounts.

SAVINGS FOR LIFE!

You and your friend keep your 20% monthly discount for as long as you both are members. Should one of you leave the Y, the other will have 30 days to find a new referral friend and continue to receive the discount. You can refer up to five friends to the 20/20 Referral Program. Having multiple friends on your referral list helps to ensure you keep your 20% monthly discount in the event one of your friends leaves the Y.

Who is eligible for the 20% Referral program?

All members in the YMCA of Indiana County over the age of 18 who have been in good standing for a minimum of 15 days are eligible to participate in the 20/20 Referral Program.

Can a current member terminate and rejoin with another current member in the 20/20 Referral Program?

Members who cancel or have already canceled their membership must wait a full 6 months in order to participate in the 20/20 Referral Program

What about new members? Can they also take advantage of this program?

Members must be in good standing for a minimum of 15 days before they are eligible to refer a friend to the 20/20 Referral Program and receive the 20% monthly discount.

What if I have an annual membership?

To receive the 20/20 Referral Program 20% monthly discount, you will need to convert your annual membership to a monthly membership via bank draft or credit card draft.

If I no longer qualify for a Scholarship and I have a friend that is a current member can they recruit me as their referral friend?

Current members cannot recruit other current members into the 20/20 Referral Program. You will need to refer someone who is not currently a member to be eligible for the 20% monthly discount.

When will my 20% monthly discount go into effect?

The referring memberís 20% monthly discount will take effect on the next monthís drafting cycle after your friend joins and both parties have completed all membership requirements. The new member will receive the 20% monthly discount with their first monthís draft.

If I invite multiple friends, do I receive additional rate reductions for each friend that joins?

No. Members will receive one 20% discount toward their monthly dues per referred membership, regardless of how many of your friends join. You can refer up to five friends who will each be eligible for the 20% monthly discount. Having multiple friends on your referral list helps to ensure you keep your 20% monthly discount in the event one of your friends cancels their membership.

Since my friend is linked to my account, am I financially obligated if they donít pay?

No. You are not financially accountable for your friendís payments; however, if your friendís membership is not in good standing, you will lose your 20% monthly discount if you are unable to recruit a new friend within 30 days.

Can all of my family refer friends?

Yes. Everyone is encouraged to refer friends to the Y. The 20/20 Referral Program allows one price reduction for each membership unit.

Can I still get the 20% monthly discount if I am part of Scholarship or a corporate partnership?

No. Each membership is eligible for only one price reduction.

If I currently have a membership that offers more of a discount to me than the 20/20 Referral Program, can I still invite a friend to receive the 20% monthly discount?

Yes. You can keep your current membership discount and your friend will receive the 20% monthly discount.

Can members with insurance-based memberships refer friends to be a part of the 20/20 Referral Program?

Only memberships paid for by a monthly bank or credit card draft are eligible for the 20/20 Referral Program. If insurance-based membership members refer a friend who pays by a monthly bank or credit card draft, the new member will receive the 20% monthly discount; however the referring insurance-based membership member will not receive the 20% monthly discount.

Can program members refer friends to be a part of the 20/20 Referral Program?

Only memberships paid for by a monthly bank or credit card draft are eligible for the 20/20 Referral Program. If program members refer a friend who pays by a monthly bank or credit card draft, the new member will receive the 20% monthly discount; however the referring program member will not receive the 20% monthly discount.

What happens if my friend cancels their membership?

You will have 30 days to recruit a new friend to remain in the 20/20 Referral Program and maintain your 20% monthly discount. If you are not able to confirm a new referral within 30 days your rate will revert back to your original monthly rate.

What if my friendís membership goes on hold?

If one member goes on hold, both members will remain on the 20/20 Referral Program for up to three months. If the member on hold remains on hold for longer than three months, the other member will need to recruit a new friend to continue to receive the 20% monthly discount.
