Board Development

Board Development helps identify, cultivate and secure future volunteers leaders of the YMCA. The committee provides on-going support, education and training to the existing board volunteers. The main focus of the trainings is to learn how to be a more effective volunteer in the YMCA movement.

Membership & Program Development

This committee advises our staff team on strategic direction and new program initiatives for delivering meaningful and profitable YMCA programs in our community. With a focus on developing the potential of kids, improving individual health and well-being, and giving back and supporting our neighbors, we strive to make sure that a membership at the Y will bring about meaningful change in the community.

Financial Development

This committee develops strategies to enhance the charitable giving from members and our community through gifts such as: annual fund giving, bequests, planned giving, estate planning, charitable trusts, endowment, etc. These gifts help ensure the long term financial success of the YMCA. The committee reviews the monthly financial position of the YMCA and also evaluates and proposes approval of annual audit.

Annual Fund

This committee leads the board in Annual Fund Campaign fundraising efforts.

Special Events

This committee works to identify opportunities for the YMCA to reach beyond its 4 walls into the community and serve more people. The YMCA runs several special events designed to raise funds for the Annual Fund Campaign. This committee focuses its efforts towards 3-5 primary events to ensure a successful fund and friend raising effort. The committee meets on the first Wednesday of every month.

Facilities

Facilities focus on the on-going assessment of the current and future needs of the YMCA as it relates to the facility and the equipment needs. This committee is in charge of securing funding, fundraising and volunteer support support for annual shut down activities.

Friends of Big Hearts

The purpose of this committee is to ensure that Indiana County YMCA Big Hearts Little Hands Mentoring Program serves all children in need in Indiana County. As a member of the Friends of Big Hearts Committee each participant should be an advocate for BHLH, have a desire to implement existing and newly developed programs, provide moral support, assist with fundraising, recruitment, and event preparation.

Youth Sports

The Youth Sports Committees focus is to aid in the development of youth sports programs that deliver the Y mission and emphasis the core values. The committee will help to establish the Ys programs as the gold standard in the community, aid in the managing of the resources, identify and anticipate future needs. The committee will help to develop coach and player development programs as well as work to deepen connections into the community.

Miracle League Advisory Committee

The MLOIC Advisory Committee is a group of volunteers dedicated to the support of our Miracle League program. Initially, the committee was the guiding force behind raising the funds to build and lead the construction of the Miracle Field of Indiana County. In an ongoing and sustaining capacity, the Advisory Committee provides support for various aspects of the MLOIC program including: volunteer recruitment, program support, fundraising and event support, game day activity support etc... The MLOIC Advisory Committee is led by the Director of Youth and Family programs as the staff liaison.

Piranha Swim Team Parents Organization (PSTPO)

Piranha Swim Team Parents Organization (PSTPO)

The PSTPO exists to support the YMCA swim team program and enhance the experience our swimmers have. This volunteer led group of parents provides critical assistance and serves in numerous functions which enable the YMCA to continue to keep our swim team program affordable for all. Below is a list of: volunteer leadership positions; chair person positions and swim meet volunteer positions. It is essential that all parents fulfill the expectations of the team in serving in these roles to ensure the success of the team as a whole.

Indiana County Cup

This committee helps plan and deliver the county cup event. The committee meets only a few months prior to the county cup event for the purpose of clarifying the events, promoting and recruiting teams and participants and to help the event build a deeper connection with the community. With a focus on developing and improving the county cup program and events, we strive to make sure that the event if friendly, competitive, builds relationships and connects the community.
